Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The global push toward a green industry continues to gain momentum, including in the steel sector, which is known as one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions worldwide. President Director of PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GGRP), Fedaus, stated that Indonesia’s steel industry has begun adapting to the global demand for environmentally friendly products.
Fedaus also explained that GGRP started adopting decarbonization principles as early as 2020—well before the issue gained widespread attention. As a form of commitment, GGRP has made investments to produce more eco-friendly steel. However, Fedaus emphasized the need for long-term regulatory support from the government to ensure the overall readiness of the national industry.
