适当证明公司对环境可持续发展的承诺
JAKARTA, Investor.id – PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP/GGRP) has once again received the Blue PROPER Award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. This 12th achievement serves as tangible proof of the company’s consistent commitment to complying with environmental regulations while upholding sustainability principles in every aspect of its business operations.
GRP President Director Fedaus stated that this achievement was made possible by the collective contributions of the entire GRP team, who consistently maintain high standards in environmental management. “This award is a reminder that industrial success is not only measured by business scale, but also by how much we contribute to environmental sustainability,” said Fedaus in a press release on Tuesday (April 15, 2025).
PROPER, or the Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management, is an annual evaluation by the Ministry that assesses companies' compliance with environmental regulations. The assessment covers crucial aspects such as environmental permit management, water and air pollution control, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, and the comprehensive implementation of environmental documents such as AMDAL and UKL-UPL.
Beyond PROPER, Fedaus emphasized that the company continues to expand its role as a future-oriented, low-carbon industrial player. Most recently, GRP obtained the Green Industry Standard from the Ministry of Industry—a national benchmark for achieving energy efficiency, emission reduction, and enhanced competitiveness in sustainable industries.
As a form of transparency regarding the environmental impact of its products, GRP has also obtained an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the export market. This certification affirms GRP’s openness in reporting the carbon footprint and life cycle of its steel products in accordance with international standards.
Meanwhile, for the domestic market, GRP received the Green Label Indonesia certification from the Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI) in recognition of its environmentally friendly products.
“These achievements reflect our transformation path as a modern steel company that is not only efficient and competitive but also environmentally responsible,” Fedaus added.
He noted that GRP will continue to innovate in energy efficiency and adopt low-carbon technologies to support Indonesia’s national target of achieving net zero emissions.
“Sustainability is not just a goal—it is the path we have chosen to grow and create a positive impact, not only for the environment and society but also for the future of Indonesia’s steel industry,” Fedaus concluded.
Environmental economist from IPB University, Aceng Hidayat, praised GRP’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. GRP, he said, is a prime example of an industry that truly cares and commits to environmental stewardship.
“GRP can be categorized as a green industry. I hope more industries will follow their lead in committing to environmental responsibility,” said Aceng.
According to Aceng, GRP’s environmental compliance and active role in the green industry are also strategic investments for enhancing future competitiveness—especially as the global market is highly concerned with environmental issues.
“Competitiveness will continue to increase. Green industries that implement sustainability and commit to reducing carbon emissions will secure their own share of the market,” Aceng concluded.
