荣获2024年ESG大奖,GRP可持续发展努力的证明
Cikarang Barat, July 27, 2024 - PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP) recently received “Main Award in the Basic Materials” category at the ESG Award 2024, organized by IDX Channel at the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s Main Hall. The award was received by GRP’s Head of Sustainability, Sheren Omega, in recognition of several green initiatives implemented by the company.
The ESG Award 2024 is an appreciation event for companies and top executives dedicated to sustainable business implementation in Indonesia. The award is based on four main assessment aspects: environment, social, governance, and Innovation in Sustainable Finance. With the theme "Optimizing ESG To Drive Value Creation", IDX Channel appreciates companies that have implemented impactful ESG initiatives for business, society, and the environment.
GRP’s Head of Sustainability Sheren Omega expressed her appreciation for the award received by the company. “We are grateful for the trust given by IDX Channel and the Jury Board for selecting GRP as one of the winners in this event. Since 2020, the company has undergone a gradual transformation, where our business and ESG strategies running in parallel to achieve sustainable growth targets,” said Sheren.
Several initiatives implemented by GRP include the installation and operation of rooftop solar panels in stages 1 and 2, with a total capacity of 9.3 megawatt peak, making it one of the largest installations in West Java. Additionally, to prepare for the demand for low-emission steel in both export and domestic markets, some of GRP’s products have been certified with the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and Green Label Indonesia. The EPD is part of data transparency, assessing carbon emissions from raw material procurement to product recycling, according to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods and ISO standards. Meanwhile, the Green Label Indonesia, awarded by the Green Product Council Indonesia, recognized GRP with a Gold rating and a score of 95%, reflecting efforts to reduce the product’s impact on humans, animals, and the environment, in line with SDG No. 12 on responsible production and consumption. GRP also undergoes a rigorous annual independent ESG rating assessment to uphold its sustainable-linked loan from BNI. This substantial five-year bilateral credit of USD 32 million is dedicated to advancing GRP’s sustainability initiatives.
