GRP 强调国内钢铁在可持续发展和可再生能源承诺中的作用

Jakarta, September 20, 2023 - PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP) demonstrated the company's participation in the Environmental, Climate, Forestry, and Renewable Energy Festival (LIKE) held from September 16 to 18, 2023. The LIKE Festival is part of the preparations for the UNFCCC COP 28 Climate Change Conference scheduled to take place in Dubai, UAE, at the end of November 2023. It serves as a crucial platform for various companies in Indonesia to share initiatives supporting environmental sustainability and renewable energy development.

GRP joined the Blue Zone with the theme "Commitment to New Renewable Energy." One of the key points of GRP's participation in this festival is the company's commitment to using Roof Solar Panels in its operational areas. GRP has entered a partnership with TotalEnergies EOS for this project, with a target total capacity of 33,000 kWp on the roofs of GRP's factories, planned to be completed by 2025. Furthermore, Sheren Omega, GRP’s GM Corporate Planning and Sustainability, also served as one of the speakers in a Talkshow session in the Blue Zone.

"GRP's involvement in the Talkshow in the Blue Zone with the theme 'Indonesia's Potential as a Maritime Nation in Developing Various New Renewable Energies (Water, Solar, Wind, and Tidal)' is an opportunity for us to present the company's sustainability initiatives. In this session, we explained the company's strategies, including the launch of the five pillars of the Company's ESG and Net Zero Carbon Strategy. GRP is firmly committed to becoming a carbon-neutral company by 2050," explained Sheren Omega, General Manager of Corporate Planning and Sustainability at GRP.

During her presentation, Sheren emphasized several key points, including the vital role of steel in renewable energy infrastructure, the urgency of sustainable domestic steel supply for the growth of renewable energy infrastructure, the importance of collaboration for a more sustainable future, and the economic opportunities created by renewable energy and sustainable steel production, such as job creation, attracting investments, and economic growth in Indonesia.

Sheren also highlighted GRP's initiatives, such as the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification for some of the company's products and active involvement in discussions on low-emission steel production solutions with relevant stakeholders. "We believe in GRP's potential to support renewable energy projects through environmentally conscious products we produce," she added.

"GRP remains committed to actively contributing to creating a more sustainable environment and supporting the transition to renewable energy. Through participation in the LIKE Festival and various sustainability initiatives, GRP continues to drive positive change in the forestry and environmental sectors in Indonesia," Sheren concluded.
