GRP 通过提供高强度钢材支持微软印度尼西亚数据中心项目
Cikarang Barat, October 14, 2024 – PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP) recently hosted its Customer Appreciation Day, themed “Uniting for Stronger Connection and Greater Impact.” This event served as a strategic platform for GRP to introduce its latest flagship product, High Strength Steel, designed to support various infrastructure projects requiring extra durability and strength. Attended by around 50 representatives from traders, fabricators, and distributors, the event fostered collaboration and strengthened partnerships across the industry.
GRP’s High Strength Steel is an ideal solution for projects that demand high endurance and strength, such as the construction of data centers. This steel boasts a yield strength of over 350 MPa and tensile strength exceeding 450 MPa, far surpassing the yield strength of Mild Steel, which is above 250 MPa with a tensile strength of 400 MPa. Moreover, GRP’s steel is produced using over 70% scrap and Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology, resulting in lower carbon emissions compared to non-EAF steel production methods.
Budi Prasetya, Construction Quality Manager for Jakarta Projects at Microsoft Indonesia, shared his thoughts on this collaboration. “We greatly appreciate our partnership with PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk. They have successfully provided high-quality local products that meet Microsoft’s stringent standards, including the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). This collaboration highlights how locally sourced materials can compete in global infrastructure projects.”
The global data center market is projected to grow by USD 39.7 billion by 2032, with an annual growth rate of 4.8%. Indonesia, strategically positioned as a global communication hub, presents a significant economic potential in this sector, valued at USD 3.37 billion. Microsoft Indonesia’s data center project leverages GRP’s High Strength Steel, meeting the need for high-quality materials that support sustainable infrastructure standards.
“With the rapid growth of the tech and digital industries, the demand for strong, sustainable structures is becoming increasingly critical,” said Fedaus, President Director of PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk. “We are proud to supply the high-quality steel used in Microsoft Indonesia’s data center project, which not only meets international standards but also features a low carbon footprint. This demonstrates our commitment to supporting vital infrastructure while maintaining environmental sustainability.”
In addition to Microsoft Indonesia representative, the event was attended by Ir. Nicodemus Daud, M.Si, Director of Institutional and Construction Resources at Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). In his remarks, he expressed gratitude for GRP’s contribution in providing high-quality steel. “Increasing the use of domestically produced materials and construction equipment is a key strategy of the PUPR Ministry to reduce dependency on imports. This strategy will boost the growth of the national steel and construction industries. Additionally, standardization and certification, particularly through the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), are crucial given the importance of steel in various sectors.”
GRP’s success in meeting the global market’s high standards is bolstered by its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification. “This certification affirms that our steel products not only meet strength and durability standards but also reflect our commitment to international environmental standards,” added Fedaus.
Looking ahead, PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk will continue to innovate and strengthen relationships with strategic partners, remaining committed to providing high-quality steel solutions that cater to the evolving needs of infrastructure projects. By prioritizing sustainability and leveraging advanced technology, GRP is poised to play a key role in supporting environmentally friendly infrastructure development in the future.
