GRP 参与 FIH 2025,推动合作实现低排放未来
PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP), one of the largest integrated steel producers in Indonesia, reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by participating in the 2025 Green Industry Forum (FIH), held on April 30 in Bandung.
Carrying the theme "Promoting Green Industry Implementation in Indonesia," the forum served as a strategic platform for collaboration among industry players, small and medium enterprises (IKM), academics, industry associations, and international institutions. Initiated by the Ministry of Industry through the Agency for Standardization and Industrial Services Policy (BSKJI), the forum is part of the lead-up to the 2nd Annual Indonesia Green Industry Summit (AIGIS) 2025, scheduled for August in Jakarta.
At the event, GRP took part as a speaker in the session “Best Practices in Green Industry Implementation.” In this session, GRP shared its transformation journey within Indonesia’s steel industry. In his presentation, GRP President Director Fedaus emphasized that sustainability is an integral part of GRP's business strategy. He stated that the steel sector—often seen as emissions-intensive—must also be part of the solution by adopting cleaner, more efficient, and transparent technologies.
GRP has fully adopted Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology in its production processes, with approximately 70% of its raw materials sourced from scrap. This approach not only significantly reduces carbon emissions but also strengthens the company’s contribution to the circular economy. GRP has also installed rooftop solar panels (PLTS) with a total capacity of 9.3 megawatt-peak (MWp), making it one of the largest rooftop solar installations in West Java.
GRP’s sustainability achievements have been recognized by both government and independent institutions. The company has obtained the Green Industry Standard certification from the Ministry of Industry and Gold-rated Green Label Indonesia from the Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI). GRP has also adopted Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to improve carbon footprint transparency of its products and is preparing for the implementation of global regulations such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Attended by over 300 participants, the forum featured GRP alongside other businesses that shared their concrete steps toward greener industry practices. The panel discussions explored decarbonization strategies in manufacturing, the adoption of low-carbon technologies, and the importance of policy direction that supports green investments.
GRP’s participation in the 2025 Green Industry Forum reinforces its role in supporting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions agenda and advancing the national steel sector amid the global shift toward sustainable development. With a spirit of collaboration reflected throughout the forum, GRP remains committed to contributing to a greener, more resilient, and globally competitive industrial ecosystem.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Faisol Riza, stated that the forum marks the starting point for consolidating efforts, strengthening innovation, and aligning steps toward AIGIS 2025. He also stressed the urgency of accelerating national industrial transformation in response to the climate crisis, resource efficiency demands, and global market
dynamics. The government, he added, is targeting a 31% to 43% reduction in industrial sector greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, with the aim of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050. (*)
