GRP Shares Digital Transformation Journey at Katalis Program Showcase

Jakarta - PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP), one of the leading integrated steel producers in Indonesia, participated in the Fireside Chat session themed Tech: Next is Now at the Catalyst Program Showcase event held in the series of Indonesia Australia Prosperity Expo 2025. The activity, organized by the IA-CEPA ECP Catalyst Economic Cooperation Program, was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Dyah Roro Esti.

GRP's participation in the Catalyst Program Showcase is proof of the company's commitment to digital innovation, sustainability, and strategic partnerships to strengthen the future of Indonesian industry.

In the discussion session, GRP was represented by Ivan Widjaksono, Director of Supply Chain Management and Digital. The session discussed the utilization of digital innovation to drive industrial transformation and create new value in manufacturing and other sectors.

Ivan explained the company's experience in adopting digital technology to improve efficiency, transparency and sustainability. “Digital transformation gives us the tools to work more efficiently, respond to customer needs and align with global best practices,” Ivan said.

"We see a close link between digitalization and sustainability. The more accurate and data-driven our processes are, the greater the positive impact we can make, both on company performance and the environment," he adds.

As part of its commitment to quality and sustainability, GRP ensures its products meet international standards, particularly in the Australian market. The company has an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), containing information on the environmental impact of GRP steel products throughout their life cycle, from raw materials, production processes, distribution, to end-of-life. This EPD supports the implementation of sustainable construction and helps GRP products meet the criteria for green building projects.

GRP also holds certification from the Australasian Certification Authority for Reinforcing and Structural Steels (ACRS). This certification ensures that GRP products have undergone a thorough audit of raw materials, production processes, and final products, and meet applicable safety and quality standards in Australia and New Zealand.

Catalyst, which launched in 2020, is a joint initiative under the Indonesia Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) to maximize the potential of economic cooperation between the two countries. The program encourages private sector participation, expands market access, integrates supply chains, and promotes inclusive growth. Entering its next five-year phase, Katalis also emphasizes gender equality, social inclusion, and innovation-based development.

Director of Katalis, Paul Bartlett, said that over the past five years, Katalis has worked with government and industry to maximize the potential of the IA-CEPA. "We helped turn business intentions into real partnerships that drive shared prosperity, job creation and inclusive growth. As we enter the next phase, we will strengthen the existing foundations and remain aligned with the economic and development priorities of both countries," he said. (Mohar/fba)
