The 13 Principles Of The ResponsibleSteel™ Initiative.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites have responsible leadership.
GRP’s commitment to ResponsibleSteel™ is articulated in our ESG Handbook, which is structured around five pillars guiding our approach to responsible steelmaking. Our corporate values and governance policies are codified in our Code of Conduct , and we ensure compliance with all applicable regulations to maintain effective oversight. Both management and staff are accountable for implementing these values and policies across our operations.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites have an effective management system in place to achieve the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives to which they are committed.
We continuously enhance our organizational performance through ISO-certified systems for environmental management, occupational health and safety, and quality. Our long-term commitment is reinforced by policies addressing supply chain responsibility, regulatory compliance, and anti-corruption, all of which are integrated into our ESG framework.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites increasingly source input materials from suppliers that are working to improve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and address ESG risks.
Responsible procurement is one of the five pillars of GRP’s Sustainability Framework. We are committed to ensuring that environmental and social standards are upheld throughout our value chain. To this end, we conduct supplier assessments to gain insights into their practices and ensure alignment with our Supplier Code of Conduct .

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites minimise the adverse social, economic, and environmental impacts of full or partial site decommissioning and closure.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites protect the health and safety of workers.
RGRP places the highest priority on ensuring occupational health and safety across all aspects of its operations. This commitment is demonstrated through the implementation of an ISO 45001-certified Occupational Health and Safety Management System, which provides a structured framework for identifying and mitigating workplace risks. To promote transparency and continuous improvement, GRP regularly shares key health and safety performance indicators in its annual reports and sustainability reports, as well as on the company’s official website .

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites respect the rights of workers and support worker wellbeing.
In alignment with the standards set by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and applicable national regulations, GRP is firmly committed to eradicating all forms of forced and child labor. This commitment is not only a matter of regulatory compliance but a reflection of our core belief in upholding the fundamental rights and dignity of every individual.
As part of our dedication to fostering fair and respectful workplace practices, we fully support employees’ freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining. GRP maintains constructive relationships with several labor unions, including Federasi Logam Mesin dan Elektronik (F-LOMENIK) , Serikat Buruh Sejahtera Indonesia (SBSI), and Serikat Pekerja Metal Indonesia (SPMI). Employees who are not represented by these unions are covered under the Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) established between GRP and the Work Unit Leadership of the Metal Workers Union Federation of Indonesia (PUK SPL FSPPMI GSG).
Our workplace policies ensure fair compensation and strictly prohibit discrimination in recruitment and daily operations, as outlined in our Code of Conduct. Furthermore, we actively promote employee well-being by providing quality accommodations and access to a world-class sports complex within our site, reinforcing our commitment to a safe, inclusive, and supportive working environment.

ResponsibleSteel™ respect human rights wherever they operate, irrespective of their size or structure.
Firmly determined to upholding human rights across all aspects of its operations. Our commitment is guided by key internal standards, including our Company and Supplier Code of Conduct. We have established a robust organizational structure that fosters a culture of continuous awareness and sensitivity to human rights issues, ensuring these principles are embedded in our daily operations. To support accountability and transparency, we maintain an anonymous online whistleblowing system that allows individuals to report potential violations at any time.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites engage effectively with stakeholders, report openly on issues of importance to those parties, and remediate adverse impacts that they have caused or contributed to.
We are equally dedicated to fostering open, transparent, and constructive dialogue with our stakeholders. GRP actively participates in a range of local initiatives, partnerships, and multi-stakeholder forums, including our membership in the Indonesian Iron & Steel Industry Association (IISIA). We communicate key developments and sustainability themes through our Annual and Sustainability Reports, as well as through our official website. Stakeholder feedback is systematically reviewed and integrated into our decision-making processes through regular management reviews. Additionally, we keep the broader public informed of our progress through press releases and our social media platforms.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites respect the rights and interests of local communities, avoid and minimise adverse impacts and support community wellbeing.
GRP is deeply committed to fostering the well-being and advancement of the local communities surrounding its operations. Through sustained outreach and collaborative initiatives, the company actively engages with residents to understand their needs and aspirations. GRP supports a range of programs focused on education, health, infrastructure, and livelihood enhancement, ensuring that its presence contributes positively to the area’s long-term growth. By maintaining open dialogue and building strong partnerships with community stakeholders, GRP ensures that its development efforts are inclusive, responsive, and aligned with local priorities. Information on many of these engagements and initiatives are published in our press releases.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites are committed to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and are taking action to achieve them at both corporate and site level, in line with ambitious greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets.
In recognition of the global urgency of climate change and in alignment with the 2015 Paris Agreement, GRP has publicly launched its Net Zero Roadmap to guide our decarbonization strategy. As part of this commitment, we have pledged to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050. Our strategy is continuously reviewed to ensure alignment with science-based targets and to support the transition toward a greener future for steelmaking.
At the national level, GRP’s commitment is further demonstrated through the achievement of Green Label Certification from the Green Product Council Indonesia (CIA) for our products. Additionally, we are proud to be among the first companies to receive Green Industry Standard certification from the Indonesian Ministry of Industry—affirming our support for Indonesia’s own net-zero targets.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites prevent and reduce emissions and effluents that have adverse effects on communities or the environment, manage waste according to the waste management hierarchy and take account of the full life cycle impacts of waste management options.
For over 15 years , GRP has maintained an environmental management system certified to the ISO 14001 standard by independent third parties. This certification reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental protection and continuous improvement. The system addresses key environmental aspects, including the reduction of effluents, waste, air pollution, and noise emissions, while also considering the broader environmental impact of our products throughout their life cycle.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites demonstrate good water stewardship.
GRP recognizes the critical role of water in steel production and the responsibility we hold to manage it sustainably. A key initiative in our approach is the implementation of a closed-loop water circulation system, which allows processed water to be reused in subsequent production cycles via cooling towers. This system significantly reduces clean water consumption and enhances operational efficiency. Our water stewardship practices are continuously reviewed and refined to meet evolving standards and ensure long-term sustainability.

ResponsibleSteel™-certified sites protect and conserve biodiversity.
Although our facilities are not located near protected or conservation areas, GRP remains committed to preserving biodiversity within and around our operations. We have undertaken extensive greening efforts, planting over 9,000 trees representing 78 different species across our site. Complementing our water stewardship efforts, we also monitor and manage water discharge into the nearby Cikarang River to prevent ecological harm. In collaboration with local communities, we have also supported various conservation initiatives, including the conservation of an endemic species native to the river ecosystem.
