Participating in AIGIS 2025, GRP strengthens low-emission industry efforts
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP) is participating in the Annual Indonesia Green Industry Summit (AIGIS) 2025 as a commitment to strengthen efforts to realize a low-emission industry.
Director of SCM and Digital GRP Ivan Widjaksono said that participation in the activity organized by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) during August 20-22, 2025 was proof of the company's commitment to supporting industrial decarbonization efforts.
In addition, he added in a statement here on Friday, it is also to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian steel products, and contribute to the achievement of national sustainability targets in line with international standards.
"The transition to a green industry requires the synergy of all parties. Collaboration between the government, industry players, academics and the community is key in accelerating the implementation of green industry principles," he said.
Ivan added that GRP has taken a number of concrete steps related to the transition to a low-emission industry, such as the production process has met sustainability criteria in both international and domestic markets, as evidenced by the ownership of Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification for exports and Green Label Indonesia for the domestic market.
Then obtained Green Industry Standard Certification from the Metal and Machinery Industry Standardization and Service Center, Ministry of Industry RI, for Hot Rolled Coil, Cold Rolled Coil and Plate products.
GRP, he continued, considers it important to have regulations that encourage the implementation of the green industry evenly throughout the national steel sector.
"With a strong regulatory umbrella, Indonesia can ensure that the transition to a low-emission industry is fair, measurable, and able to increase competitiveness in the global market," he said.
Earlier, when opening the AIGIS 2025 event, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized the importance of synergy between economic growth strategies and environmental policies.
"Economic growth should not be contrasted with efforts to reduce carbon or greenhouse gas emissions in the industrial sector. On the contrary, both must go hand in hand," he said.
The Minister of Industry said that the national manufacturing industry is now at a crucial point in facing global demands, especially related to the transition to clean energy and emission reduction.
The acceleration of green industry transformation, he added, is considered an urgent need so that national competitiveness is maintained amid the world's green economy trend.
Meanwhile, Head of the Industrial Services Standardization and Policy Agency (BSKJI), Ministry of Industry Andi Rizaldi hopes that AIGIS can become a platform to encourage the active role of all stakeholders in accelerating the development of the national green industrial ecosystem.
