Wins ESG Award 2024, Recognizing GRP's Sustainability Efforts

PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP) recently received an award at the 2024 ESG Awards organized by IDX Channel, held at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building. Accepted by GRP's Head of Sustainability, Sheren Omega, the company was honored with the Top Award in the Basic Materials Sector for its green initiatives.
The ESG Awards recognize companies and top executives dedicated to sustainable business practices in Indonesia. The awards are based on four key criteria: environmental, social, governance, and innovation in sustainable financing. Under the theme "Optimizing ESG To Drive Value Creation," IDX Channel commended companies that have implemented impactful ESG initiatives benefiting business, society, and the environment.
Sheren Omega expressed her appreciation for the recognition received by the company. "We are grateful for the trust given by IDX Channel and the Jury Panel in selecting GRP as one of the winners. Since 2020, the company has been gradually transforming, aligning our business strategy with ESG to achieve sustainable growth targets," Sheren stated on Tuesday (30/7).
GRP's initiatives include the installation and operation of rooftop solar panels (phases 1 and 2) with a total capacity of 9.3 megawatts peak, making it one of the largest rooftop solar installations in West Java. To meet the demand for low-emission steel in export and domestic markets, several GRP products have obtained Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and Green Label Indonesia certifications. The EPD provides transparent data on carbon emissions from raw material procurement to product recycling, adhering to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method and ISO standards. Meanwhile, the Green Label Indonesia, awarded by the Green Product Council Indonesia, recognized GRP with a Gold rating and a 95% score, reflecting efforts to reduce product impacts on humans, animals, and the environment, aligning with SDG No. 12 on responsible consumption and production. GRP also undergoes an annual independent ESG assessment to maintain its sustainability-linked loan from BNI. This significant five-year bilateral loan of USD 32 million supports GRP's sustainability initiatives.

We hope to keep making a positive contribution to the environment and society while collaborating with other industry players to achieve global decarbonization goals," Sheren concluded.
