GGRP Collaborates with Total Energies for Solar Panel Installation
PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GGRP) continues to develop the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) program. Most recently, on July 15, 2022, GGRP and Total Energies (TTE) Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS Roof) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The signing of the MoU, which was also witnessed by representatives of Bank BNI.
"Solar panel installation will take place across the factory’s building. In a statement released on Saturday (16/7), GGRP President Director Abednedju Giovano Warani Sangkaeng stated that this endeavour is a part of the company's goal to decrease carbon dioxide emissions as part of the ESG program or sustainable environmental, social, and corporate governance.
According to Argo, his nickname, there are several advantages that GGRP gets in installing the solar panels. Besides of reduced the carbon dioxide emissions as part of the ESG program, it will benefit from cost savings due to the power requirements provided by solar panels.
"This is a long-term and sustainable advantage. Because of this effort's potential to boost product competitiveness and obtain green energy", he said.
The TotalEnergies Technical team will actively supervise the solar installation project's implementation, Argo continued. For the construction project, TotalEnergies is in charge of the design and selection of reliable EPC partners.
At every stage of the GGRP project, TotalEnergies will adhere to the highest safety and quality requirements. The technical standards of TotalEnergies will be followed throughout equipment selection and installation. The modern solar PV system will therefore be guaranteed to function for at least 30 years.
PLTS is furnished with a variety of sensors for operation and maintenance which track radiation, temperature, wind speed, and ambient temperature. Additionally, by delivering performance analysis data and displaying the carbon footprint, the system will also function with remote monitoring.
According to Argo, "This technology may also connect production data with SCADA and other current power monitoring systems."
" TotalEnergies technical team will collaborate closely with technical team from the GGRP to build and prepare the readiness, for routine standard maintenance, the TotalEnergies service team will handle routine visit to carry out the maintenance," added Argo.
The GGRP is commit and maintaining a clean environment, Argo continued. In this instance, GGRP seeks to reduce carbon emissions by approx. 47,400 tons of CO2 annually, which is the equivalent of reducing 10,200 cars off the road. The initiative is also in line with and supports the ambition of the Indonesian government to create an energy mix of 23% from renewable energy, continued Argo.
In conclusion, he said, "GGRP believes that this project can run smoothly and completely supported by all parties and public including the Government. (OL-13)
