Jusung and Gunung Raja Paksi (GRP) Ready to Participate in National Strategic Project Tender USD310 million
PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jusung Engineering Co Ltd, a Korean company. Cooperation between the two companies to win two of the three Karian-Serpong Regional Drinking Water Supply Projects, which are national strategic projects. Both are Serpong Water Treatment Plant (WTP) projects worth around USD 100 million. And second, the Karian Conveyance Pipeline project with a value of around USD210 million.
"GRP and Jusung will work together to win the tender for two of the three national strategic projects. While the tender for another project, namely the construction of a dam, we will not participate in because it is outside our line of business," said GRP President Director, Abednedju Giovano Warani Sangkaeng, in his statement, Friday (16/9)
According to Argo, as he is affectionately known, the purpose of the collaboration is to contribute to the development of the national strategic project, which is related to the provision of drinking water in Indonesia. In this case, added Argo, GRP and Jusung created a synergy together to make the project a success. "GRP produces pipes, while Jusung does painting and coating to protect the steel pipes, so they are safe for drinking water," explained Argo.
Argo explained that the pipes purchased from GRP will be coated and coated with Poly Ehtlyn materials so that the pipes are stronger and more durable, because they will be used for drinking water pipes. "As for the process of taking water from the river and building a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and then the water will be processed into drinking water standards," he explained.
Argo added that this project is actually a G to G project between the Governments of Indonesia and Korea. However, for the procurement of materials, the Korean side decided to cooperate with the GRP with several considerations.
“Among these considerations, Jusung chose GRP because as the largest private steel factory in Indonesia, GRP is reliable in terms of production. In addition, GRP products are recognized as having competitiveness and quality to be proud of. We also produce directly from the coil plate to the pipe so that the price and quality are very competitive,” explained Argo.
Jusung itself, is a Korean company that specializes in producing three-layer Poly-Etylene (3LPE) pipes and three-layer Poly-Ethylene pipe fittings. The company, which was founded July 25, 2011 in Dangjin and Shinwoo, has sales revenue of around 30 million USD in 2021. (OL-13)
